• Reason or meaning of name: Her first name was the result of the combination of the names Ava and Lina, because her parents couldn’t agree on it. Jeannette was the name of her grandmother, and Carstensen is a Dutch last name meaning “son of Carsten”.
• Character’s nicknames: Ava, Aves, Avie.
• Reason for nicknames: She hated Avalina because it was too complicated for her liking. Ava was one of the names merged to make her full name, and Aves and Avie are the two nicknames her brothers use.
• Does your character like their name, why or why not?: She doesn’t really like Avalina, and she doesn’t like Carstensen much, either. Jeannette, she doesn’t mind, but anything else she absolutely detests. She prefers to be called Ava over everything else.
